Construction Update - July 2007

Reeves Middle School

Modernizations and additions will be complete by the start of the 2007-2008 school year, increasing student capacity from 525 to 567. Additions include a new entry lobby, administration area, choir room, three new science classrooms and a new library. Except for the gym and the 1998 cafeteria and auxiliary gym additions, the entire building is being modernized, with new electrical and mechanical systems. Technology improvements include wireless internet, a new computer lab, and ceiling mounted overhead projectors. The football/soccer field has been reconstructed and will be ready for use by the start of the school year.

Pioneer Elementary School

Pioneer will be completed by the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year. The work at Pioneer includes all new classrooms (we previously had 13, including kindergarten; we will now have 16, including 2 kindergarten), all new Library with vaulted ceiling space, all new Administration area, and a new covered entry to the school. Pioneer Elementary School also will have wireless internet access.

Capital High School East Field

The football field is being reconstructed and will be ready for use in September of 2008. Improvements include track resurfacing and reconstruction of the high jump area. The field has been stripped, irrigation systems and drainage installed and new sand base. The project is on schedule.
